In this article, I will blog about my breakfast review at the Silk Road Dining in JW Marriott Hotel Nara, using lots of photos, and since I stayed there with my children aged 3 and 0, I will also share some information for those with children.
JW Marriott Hotel Nara "Silk Road Dining" was a place where I could enjoy a relaxing breakfast away from the busyness of everyday life, with the high level of ingredients and the service and attention that only JW Marriott can provide.
By the way, I have been in the travel industry for about 20 years. I have always researched and used various services and trends in travel, both for business and personal use.
I have also stayed at the JW Marriott Hotel Nara in a deluxe room and have experienced the excellence of the JW Marriott Hotel Nara.

JW Marriott Hotel Nara "Silk Road Dining" Basic Information
JW Marriott Hotel Nara "Silk Road Dining" is located on the far side of the first floor lobby lounge and is the main dining room of JW Marriott Hotel Nara.
In the cozy, market-inspired restaurant, you can enjoy international cuisine with a mix of Western and Eastern flavors. Breakfast details are as follows.
Breakfast Details
- Time: 7:00-11:30 (Set menu only from 10:30-11:30)
- Price: 4,700 yen (including tax and service charge)
- Children: Free for children up to 12 years old
Breakfast at JW Marriott Hotel Nara is usually charged, but it is free for up to two people if you have a breakfast plan or are a Marriott Platinum member or above (when the Executive Lounge is closed for breakfast service). Also, children up to 12 years old can get it for free.
I am a Marriott Gold member, so I paid the fee, but during the period I stayed, they were just having a 30% off campaign for breakfast, so I was able to save a little money.
Note that breakfast at the JW Marriott Hotel Nara "Silk Road Dining" is either buffet style or set style depending on timing, situation, and time of day.
The day I stayed at the hotel was a three-day weekend, so it was buffet style until 10:30 and set style after 10:30. My friend who stayed on a weekday had only set style breakfast.
I entered the restaurant around 8:30 a.m., but the restaurant was quite crowded, and I heard that it gets crowded after 8:00 a.m. So if you want to enjoy a leisurely breakfast, I recommend you to enter the restaurant early in the morning.
Sparkling wine privilege at breakfast for Marriott Gold Elite members and above.
At Silk Road Dining, Nara, JW Marriott Hotel, Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite members and above are entitled to a glass of sparkling wine at breakfast.
You can get this benefit if you are a Marriott Gold member. Since I was also a Gold member, I received sparkling wine. You can choose alcoholic or non-alcoholic, so my husband and I both chose non-alcoholic sparkling wine.
What tableware is available for children at JW Marriott Hotel Nara "Silk Road Dining"?
At JW Marriott Hotel Nara's Silk Road Dining, children's tableware is provided.
There were large dishes, small dishes and cups. All the dishes are made of plastic, so you can safely let your child use them. The tableware was bear-shaped, which my child thought was cute and happy.
For some reason, they only gave us chopsticks, so we later asked for spoons and forks. There are chairs for children, but there seemed to be not many.
We entered the restaurant with a baby stroller for our 0-year-old child, but it seemed that all the chairs for children were in use at that time, so we asked them to put the stroller on the table as it was.

As soon as we were shown to our seats, we were asked to order only egg dishes.
The egg station is located in one corner of the buffet, and we were able to have freshly cooked egg dishes brought to our table, which was a great service for those with children.
I chose the omelette (cheese). The omelette at the hotel is delicious.
My three year old son also had his order taken, and he was chomping down on his own portion of omelette. I heard that the hotel omelette was delicious even for a child.
This is the Japanese food corner. Disposable plastic gloves are provided in each corner to protect against corona.
This is the salad corner. Disinfected tongs are provided to pick up food. The used tongs were to be put into the used pot.
Juices were separated into individual portions, which was much more convenient than pouring by hand.
This is fruit and yogurt. The yogurt was also divided into portions for each person.
A table with cereals and nuts. They were stylishly packaged in jars.
This is the bread corner. As a bread lover, bread at the hotel is one of my pleasures. I enjoyed it very much.
I couldn't take a picture because of the crowd, but next to the bread was an egg station and next to that was the hot meal. The hot meals included sausage, bacon, potatoes, soup, porridge, shumai, and many other varieties.
When it's buffet style, you tend to take a lot of things. I was so full that I could not finish my lunch.

At the JW Marriott Hotel Nara "Silk Road Dining" breakfast set menu, you can choose Western or Japanese food. And in Western style, you can choose the main dish from the following items.
- Poached Eggs
- Eggs Benedict
- Fried Eggs
- Scrambled Eggs
- Omelette
This time, I chose Eggs Benedict. This is another egg dish that you cannot make at home, so if the hotel has it, you will want to eat it.
This is hot oatmeal. It looks much different and tastes even better when served by the hotel staff.
The bread was almost the same as what was served at the buffet.
The salad also had a variety of colorful vegetables.
This is the salmon appetizer.
The fruit platter is also beautifully arranged. I guess the way you arrange things is important.

I felt that the hotel is located in Nara where tea rice gruel is served. The main dish was grilled fish, and it was served with a thickly baked egg, today's sashimi, and a small bowl of salad, which was very hearty.
Incidentally, there is a kid's menu for children when ordering from the set menu. The menu included sausage, rice balls, fruit yogurt, and other kid-friendly items.

The JW Marriott Hotel Nara offers the free night award during non-peak seasons, so you can use it at any time of the year. Our family took advantage of this offer during a three-day weekend.

This is what we actually received. We had a non-alcoholic cocktail. I had an elegant time at the lobby lounge.
