JW Marriott Hotel Nara Pool Report with kids.

This website uses affiliates.

When it comes to luxury hotel pools, they all have strict age restrictions, but are you wondering if the pool at the JW Marriott Hotel Nara, the first JW Marriott brand hotel in Japan, is accessible for children?

I wanted to let my kids enjoy the pool.

In this article, I will blog about the pool report of the JW Marriott Hotel Nara, using lots of pictures, and since I also took my 3 and 0 year old children to use the pool, I will also give you information about taking children and what kind of things you should bring with you.

The pool at the JW Marriott Hotel Nara has a calm and relaxing atmosphere, but it can be used by children as young as 0 years old as long as they are wearing "water diapers". However, there is no shallow area for children and the depth of the water is 1.2 meters, so it is recommended to bring a floatation device to attach to your arms.

Many luxury hotel swimming pools have strict age restrictions, but it is nice to be able to enjoy the pool from the age of 0!

Swimsuits can also be rented for 550 yen.

However, the rental swimsuits have a simple design like those used at the gym and are quite high-leg. Many people may have some resistance to it.

I was worried about what the rental swimsuits would look like, so I brought my own. If you are at all concerned, I recommend that you bring your own swimsuit.

Swimming caps must be worn when putting your face in the water at the pool. This is available for free.

JW Marriott Hotel Nara Pool Report

Let me introduce you to the pool at the JW Marriott Hotel Nara.

The 4th floor fitness and spa

At the JW Marriott Hotel Nara, the fitness gym and spa are located on the 4th floor.

The fitness center is in front of you, and the spa reception desk is on the left side. Take the private elevator on the right side to the 5th floor, where you will find the locker rooms and swimming pool.

A view of the locker rooms

When you take the private elevator down to the 5th floor, you will find shoe lockers, and slippers are provided inside. Change into slippers and go inside.

Bathrobes were provided inside the lockers.

The locker key is a digital type, which you lock by setting your own PIN number. It was nice to be able to go empty handed when entering the pool.

The number of users is somewhat controlled so that there are not too many users, so I was never with other people in the locker room.

This is the powder space. There was no basic cosmetics set, but tissues and a hair dryer.

Towels were replenished each time. There was mineral water in the refrigerator.
There was a dehydrator for swimsuits on the right side of the refrigerator, which was convenient because I did not have to bring my soaked swimsuit back home.

The locker room also has toilets and shower booths.

Open the door to the pool.

View of the pool

The pool is not that large at about 25 meters, but it has a calm atmosphere with many daybeds around it. It is a space where you can relax and unwind.

The pool is just like you would expect from a luxury hotel. There is a jet bath next to the pool.

There is no shallow area for children, and the depth is 1.2 meters. If small children use the pool, their parents need to swim with them.

Floatation rings and other items that can be attached to the arms can be used. Floats and other equipment are not available for rent, so it is convenient to bring your own.

The area where you enter the pool has a railing and stairs, my son used to play in this space as well. It was easy to use and safe to enter with small children.

It is a heated pool, but the water in the pool felt pretty cold, so I often went back and forth between the pool and the jetted tub.

It was very cold, especially when entering the pool from the whirlpool.... The kids seemed to be fine, but it was pretty tough for me as an arachite.

Also, if the floor is wet, it is quite slippery. My child fell on his butt several times. The floor in front of the jet bath was especially slippery, so be careful.

The jet bath was designed to sit inside. The jet bath is comfortable with just the right amount of hot water. It was just about the same level of hot water as a bath, so I felt like I could soak in it for a long time without getting run over.

The jet bath also had handrails and stairs. I am glad that the handrails and stairs make it safe for children to enter.

The water in the pool was too cold for my 0 year old, so I put his feet and hands in the jet bath for a bit and enjoyed his first time in the pool.

There were plenty of towels available in the pool. There were no lifeguards or instructors, but there was one hotel staff member at the pool at all times.

Please see below for a clear list of precautions when using the pool.

Memo

  • Entry to the pool may be restricted when the pool is crowded, so it is recommended to check with the spa reception in advance.
  • Swimming caps are required when swimming in the pool. (Free rental)
  • Children under elementary school age must swim with a parent or guardian.
  • Swimming aids (floats) for infants and toddlers are allowed.
  • Eating and drinking are prohibited.
  • Temperature and disinfection are required at the Spa reception on the 4th floor.
  • Bathrobes may be worn if swimsuits are worn from the room.
  • Towels are available in the locker room and pool, so there is no need to bring towels from your room.

Extra: Kids' Activities

There were other things for children to enjoy besides swimming pools.

We got this one when we checked in. It is a game for kids, where you have to find the answers to 10 quizzes written in the booklet during your stay and take a picture with your child.

The photo is shown to the hotel staff and if they answer correctly, they get a gift.

In addition to the quiz, there was also a section where you could enjoy coloring, and origami paper inside, with instructions on how to fold cranes.

It was an activity that adults could enjoy with their children.

With this kind of activity, it will make your stay at the hotel more enjoyable!
