What kind of hotel is Aloft Osaka Dojima Hotel near Osaka Station?

Location of the hotel

Excellent location! Within walking distance from Umeda, the gateway to Osaka.

Aloft Osaka Dojima is located in an area called Kitashinchi or Dojima.

It is a business district in the north of Osaka where major companies have their headquarters.

It is only a 10-minute walk from Osaka (Umeda) Station, the main terminal in the north of Osaka, making it very convenient for access from other prefectures.

There's an underground passage from Osaka station to the neighborhood, so even if it rains you don't even need an umbrella to get to the neighborhood!

Features of Aloft Osaka Dojima

Aloft Osaka Dojima is located in Dojima area, but before Marriott Group bought the hotel, it was called "Dojima Hotel".

The hotel was based on the Renaissance style but with a modern tone.

Aloft Osaka has a casual and well-designed style reminiscent of the city, but the hotel has been designed as a modern hotel with a mix of old and new, using the exterior of the former Dojima Hotel as the wallpaper for the rooms.

The front desk and communal spaces shine with flair and creativity.

You can see the playful spirit from the entrance 😃.

The front desk is also neon colored and full of urban feel.

The elevator lights leading to the guest rooms also look like this.

I can't tell if it's morning, noon, night, or what kind of lighting it is.

It's perfect for those who like Western modern style ✨.

And with the loft-style design, it looks like you're living in an urban design room with a sense of openness, even though it's a hotel.

It fits the image of "living alone in the city and waking up to sunlight from a large window" that you often see in  movies (laughs).

What are the rooms like at Aloft Osaka Dojima?

The inside of the room is calm, given the atmosphere at the front desk.

The bed is a queen size. All rooms at Aloft Osaka Dojima except for the twin rooms seem to have queen beds.

The beds are a bit small compared to other hotels. I felt it was a bit small compared to other hotels.

While the rugs and sofas incorporate colored materials, the beds and wallpaper are quite simple. White is the base color.

The modern Moxy room I stayed in before did not have a sofa, but I appreciated the fact that Aloft Osaka Dojima had one.

Thanks to this long relaxing sofa, I am very happy to have a separate space for sleeping and relaxing👍.

The room has a great sense of openness as you can see here👍

This time we had a room on the 11th floor and the sunlight was outstanding. I was in the middle of Osaka, but from the 11th floor I could see the surrounding buildings below.

I was surprised to see the sunrise when I woke up in the morning. I woke up to the brightness of the sun at dawn.

There are roll curtains, but they are not light-blocking, so the outside brightness comes into the room. This is reminiscent of an urban loft in a foreign country 👌.

Around the bed is a clock, phone and memo. And it is properly equipped with a Bible.

Coffee, tea, and refrigerator are as shown here✨.

Compact and simple!

There's also an air purifier 💡

The fridge is the usual short depth series! Please note that it does not hold a lot of things.

Separate shower and toilet, very simple inside.

The shower has an overhead shower like the other hotels in the Marriott group, Fairfield and Moxy ✨.

The area around the sink is spacious with no wasted space. Towels were prepared on the bottom shelf and there was also an iron. Water was placed at this sink for some reason.

The amenities in the room were PHARMACOPEIA ✨.

Pajamas, hair dryer, and slippers were in a box under the clothesline next to the sink!

The hair dryer in Aloft Osaka was a "SALONIA".

It dries quickly with high airflow 👌.The bag is so cute!

The second level of the same box is a safety box!

The idea of a top opening safety box is very innovative.

The closet where I hung the clothes this time was not a closet with a closing door. But surprisingly, this clothes hanger was easy to use.

I like the fact that I can hang my jacket as soon as I come back from outside, and when I go outside, I can quickly take it off in the same line of flow from the room.

There is also a large mirror at the entrance of the room. Here you can check your clothes before going out and go out quickly!

And the viewfinder is big and easy to use!

Most hotel exit mirrors are right at the doorway, so you can't step back because the wall is in the way😅.

What are the amenities at Aloft Osaka Dojima?

As I mentioned in the room description, the amenity at Aloft Osaka Dojima was Pharmacopia.

Pharmacopia is an organic body care brand from Canada. The resort-like citrus scent added a soothing and relaxing touch to my bath time.

The scent was truly refreshing and relaxing. It's a great amenity for women ✨.

I think it is especially perfect for summer 🌴.

The body cream leaves you with a "suh" feeling after applying it. (minty?).

What is the breakfast menu like?

Breakfast at the beginning of the day is one of the most enjoyable parts of a hotel stay ✨.

This time, breakfast was included in the plan. We had breakfast at The WEARHOUSE on the first floor of the hotel 🍴.

Egg dishes are included and they take your order when you sit down.

You can choose from Sunny Side Eggs, Scrambled Eggs, or Omelette. This time I ordered the omelette!

It is quite huge in size. This alone filled me up.

Other dishes are buffet style, with Japanese and Western dishes, as well as cereals.

I had the western style this time.

The plates were colorful and very cute, which lifted my spirits from the morning.

The amount of food was quite filling, and I wasn't hungry for lunch after a hearty breakfast (laugh).

What about the other facilities?

There is a Roundy's on the second floor of the hotel. It seems to be suitable for long-term stays. It looks like it could be used for a series of work nights in Osaka North 👌.

There was also a gym on the 2nd floor 🏃.

Aloft Osaka Dojima point summary!

  • Walking distance from north Osaka and central business district
  • Designed for a simple stay in the city
  • Calm interior design while incorporating a sense of fun
  • Gutsy breakfast can be enjoyed in the morning
  • Laundry available, recommended for long-term stays

Aloft Osaka Dojima is well located from Osaka Station and has a simple yet playful atmosphere.

The atmosphere was nostalgic AND modern with a sense of the hotel's history.

A great candidate for an Osaka stay with a little spice ✨.
