Are you wondering what the JW Marriott Hotel Nara, the first JW Marriott brand hotel in Japan, is like?

In this article, I will blog a room review of the JW Marriott Hotel Nara deluxe room, using more than 30 photos, and I will also give you information about my stay with my children, 3 and 0 years old, since I brought them along with me.

The JW Marriott Hotel Nara has a brand concept of "mindfulness" with an awareness of what is relaxing and comfortable, and the rooms were very high quality in both space and service.

Incidentally, I have been in the travel industry for about 20 years. I have been in the travel industry for about 20 years, and I have always been researching travel trends and various services, both for business and for personal use.

I have also stayed at the JW Marriott Hotel Nara in a deluxe room and have experienced the excellence of the JW Marriott Hotel Nara. Based on this experience, I will tell you about the "JW Marriott Hotel Nara" Deluxe Room and its amenities in an easy-to-understand manner.

In addition, this time I stayed for free using the benefit of my credit card (Mariott Amex Premium); it was during a three-day weekend, and the room rate, which was almost 60,000yen per night, was waived.

I also described the free night at the end of the article, if you would like to take a look!

This article will give you a good idea of the features of the deluxe rooms at the JW Marriott Hotel Nara.

JW Marriott Hotel Nara Basic Information

Emma
Emma
JW Marriott Hotel Nara is a relatively new hotel that opened in July 2020.

The exterior of the hotel has a stylish and relaxed atmosphere. It is a low-rise, six-story building in keeping with Nara's cityscape. Since it was just built, it was a beautiful hotel.

The concept of the JW Marriott Hotel Nara is "Modern Japanese elegance. Nara's culture and motifs are incorporated throughout the hotel, creating a beautiful museum-like setting for a superlative stay. The hotel has 158 guest rooms, including 16 suites.

The hotel is adjacent to the Nara Prefectural Convention Center in the center of Nara City, with the Nara City Hall across the street. The nearest station is Shin-Omiya Station on the Kintetsu Line. It is also close to Nara Park, Todaiji Temple, and other tourist attractions. Because of its easy accessibility, it is recommended for those staying in Nara for the first time.

JW Marriott Hotel Nara Deluxe Room Review

JW Marriott Hotel Nara offers the following 9 room types according to the official website. There are 158 guest rooms in total, including 16 suites.

Room Type Size
Deluxe Room (1 King) 36㎡
Deluxe room (2 double beds) 36㎡
Executive Room (1 King) 36㎡
Executive Room (2 doubles) 36㎡
Nara Junior Suite 43㎡
Griffin Junior Suite 55㎡
Executive Suite (1 King) 92㎡
Executive Suite (2 Double beds) 92㎡
Presidential Suite (1 King) 172㎡

I stayed in the Deluxe Room (1 King). It is a deluxe type room with one king size bed.

It is the smallest room type at the JW Marriott Hotel Nara, but it was still 36 square meters in size, so I was able to spend a comfortable stay.

We had a 3 year old and a 0 year old with us. The 3 year old slept with us in the middle of the king size bed and the 0 year old slept in a crib we had ordered in advance.

The "Deluxe Room (2 Double Beds)" has two double beds in the same room type. For two infants sleeping together without a crib, this is recommended as the overall width of the bed is larger than the king-size bed.

The room key was simple. We were given these two cards, one pink and one gray. I'll go on to show you the actual room next!

Bedroom

I would like to introduce the room right away.

I stayed in a "Deluxe Room (1 King)" room on the 4th floor. Next to the king bed, there was also a crib available, which I had requested in advance.

The crib was an Aprica folding crib.

Also, a diaper garbage can was provided for us, although we had not notified them in advance. I was very grateful.

The beds are quite high. If you are worried about your child falling out of the bed with you, you may want to request a bed guard in advance. Above the head of the bed was a decoration with a deer antler motif.

On the side table at the back of the bed, there is a cute deer ornament. There were tricks to feel Nara in various places in the hotel.

On the side table in front of the bed, there was a telephone and a notepad. And then there was this useful thing. This is a wireless charger integrated with a clock.

Since there is also a charger, it is very convenient to have less stuff with you!

Across from the bed is a table, and behind it a sofa. The sofa was still firm enough for an adult to sleep on this.

Next to the sofa was a large full-length mirror.

The lamps on the table are also stylish and fashionable. And there was a moss interior next to it.

There is a TV across from the bed. It is wall-mounted and neat. A brown trash can was placed under the TV stand.

The turndown service included a fresh bottle of water on the pillow, a pillow mist and a message card on the bed. Lovely service.

The pillow mist is lavender scented. All of my family members slept soundly with a subtle scent of lavender coming from the pillows. The interior is sophisticated and stylish with a sense of unity. The deer motifs in various places were comforting. Overall, the room had a soothing color scheme.

The minibar

To the right of the TV stand, there is a shelf for the minibar.

There was complimentary water and a Nespresso machine on the counter, offering two types of coffee. There is a shelf under the counter with cups and glasses in the top drawer and a refrigerator, snacks, water kettle, and ice cream pail in the bottom.

Top drawer. It contains glasses and cups, as well as complimentary tea and sugar. Please note that the wine in the upper left corner is charged. The cups were Noritake, a luxury brand.

These are paid snacks and drinks. The menu list is in the back.

The fridge contents include liquor, beer, tea and soda, juice, and other drinks. All contents of the refrigerator are chargeable. I was surprised that even Pepsi Cola cost 700 yen for a paid drink.

The hotel does not have a store selling drinks or other items. If you want something to drink other than free water, coffee or tea, there is a Family Mart (open until 23:00) on the first floor of the Nara Convention Center next door, so I recommend buying drinks there.

The water area

The bathroom at the JW Marriott Hotel Nara is located next to the bedroom, behind a wooden partition. The layout is a little unusual in that the vanity, bathroom, closet, and toilet are located inside this wooden partition.

(Image credit: MARRIOTT BONVOY from the official website of the JW Marriott Hotel Nara.)

Only the photo of the washbasin was not taken well and I borrowed the image. The rounded part of the wooden partition is the washbasin. The washbasin can be entered from both the bed side and the aisle side, so it was very convenient in terms of flow line.

There were towels and a hair dryer on the shelf of the washbasin.

The hair dryer is from SALONIA, which reduces drying time by 30% and cuts down on further damage. Many hotel dryers are not so good, but this one impressed me when I used it! It is very good with high air volume! It is perfect for me with a lot of hair! Plus it is simple and well designed! It is my first choice for my next purchase.

Placed on the vanity was a two-tiered box containing toiletries, cups, tissues, soap, body cream, and bath salts.

The two-tiered box was filled with amenities on the top and bottom! Since we were with children, a children's toothbrush was also provided.

This is a body cream and soap. The body cream is from the Italian luxury brand Bvlgari. The soap is from Aromatherapy Associates, the UK's premier aroma brand.

I thought there was a cotton ball in the accessory case, but I found Aromatherapy Associates bath salts in it. The small container is also stylish.

This is a bathroom. It has a calm atmosphere with a grayish hue. The shower booth and bathtub were separated, so I was satisfied with being able to take a relaxing soak in the bathtub. There is also a washing area with chairs, so it was an easy-to-use bath for those with small children.

The shampoos are from the Italian luxury brand Bvlgari. Somehow, this alone made me quite excited. The fragrance is indeed reminiscent of Bvlgari perfume when you use it. I was able to enjoy a luxurious time away from everyday life even during bath time.

To the left side of the bathroom was the toilet. The inside of the toilet is a simple space with a grayish hue. The toilet bowl is a TOTO NJ1. The nozzle automatically sterilizes after use.

A view of the closet

The closet at the JW Marriott Hotel Nara is located on the other side of the wooden partition next to the bedroom that was mentioned earlier. The door you see just to the right of the entrance is the closet door.

This is the closet open and the space on the right side looks like this. Inside, pajamas and bathrobes are provided. There is also an ironing board. There are no pajamas for children. If you are with children, please bring your children's pajamas.

Open the closet and the space to the left looks like this.

There was also a safe, laundry service bags, and paper bags. Slippers are also provided here. Slippers for children were also provided. There is also a scale under the slippers.

The water and closet area had a calm atmosphere and made the most of the limited space.

What is the view from the room at the JW Marriott Hotel Nara?

The JW Marriott Hotel Nara is located in the center of Nara City, with the Nara Convention Center to the south and Nara City Hall to the north.

My room has a Nara City Hall view!

There are no buildings around that are particularly noteworthy. There are restrictions regarding building height and views so as not to spoil the scenery of Nara, and since it is a 6F building and not a skyscraper, there is no night view to be enjoyed at night either. From the rooms, you can only see the cityscape of Nara. Enjoy your stay in the room for that.

Free stay at JW Marriott Hotel Nara with Marriott AMEX Premium benefits

I stayed at the JW Marriott Hotel Nara for free with the benefit of my credit card (Marriott AMEX Premium), which I have introduced so far.

JW Marriott is one of Marriott International's brands. It belongs to the luxury brand, which is the highest category among the 30 brands in Marriott International.

If you have Marriott AMEX Premium, you can get a free night award at Marriott Bonvoy affiliated hotels as an ongoing benefit of the card. (annual payment of 1.5 million yen or more is required, but it depends on the country where the card was issued.).

For your information, the room rate for a deluxe room (one king) on the day I stayed at the hotel is as follows.

This amount is a very good deal for a free stay!

The JW Marriott Hotel Nara offers the free night offer except during peak season, so you don't have to choose too much of a time of the year. Our family used it during a 3-day weekend.

We also had a Marriott Amex, so we had this service.

This is what I actually got. I had a non-alcoholic cocktail. I had an elegant time at the lobby lounge.

Marriott AMEX is a great card for those who love to travel, as it is easy to earn points and transfer them to miles at a high rate of return. Every year, I look forward to thinking about where to stay for my free nights.

Summary ([Review]JW Marriott Hotel Nara. Deluxe Room Accommodations with Children.)

I have blogged about the JW Marriott Hotel Nara deluxe room review.

The brand concept of JW Marriott Hotel Nara is "mindfulness" with an awareness of what is relaxing and comfortable, and both the space and the service in the room were of very high quality.

It was a really nice hotel, very clean and very well serviced in every corner. I also saw many people with children during my stay.

It would be nice to splurge a little and spend a relaxing time with your children at the JW Marriott Hotel Nara.
